When I think of what’s new and great in South America, the Belmond Hiram Bingham immediately comes to mind. This iconic day trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu feels like stepping back in time with its elegant 1920s-inspired style. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu, then return to the train for dinner and cocktails as you wind through Peru’s stunning landscapes. It’s a scenic and cultural highlight that captures the spirit of Peru in the most memorable way.

Trending in South America? I’m seeing more and more travelers drawn to Central America — especially Belize, Costa Rica, and Colombia. These destinations offer incredible nature and plenty of adventure, all without the long-haul flights. From diving the reefs of Belize, exploring the rainforests and beaches of Costa Rica, and wandering Cartagena's vibrant streets, there’s so much to discover.
One of my personal favorite memories in South America is hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu — hearing stories from our local guides who call Peru home, experiencing incredible sunrises over the mountains, and ending the day under star-filled skies. (Although if the Belmond Hiram Bingham had been running then, it would’ve been hard to resist hopping aboard!)
P.S. For my wine and adventure lovers — think Argentina! Incredible wines, dramatic landscapes, and plenty of opportunities for exploring between vineyard visits.
