EUROPE

My general rule of thumb? Skip the big brands and large resorts. Instead, opt for boutique, family-owned properties with a story and a legacy to tell. Maybe it’s antiques collected by generations of owners… or the furry friends that call the property home (my favorite hotel in Tuscany is famously home to two golden retrievers!). These are the kinds of moments I love bringing to life for my clients — the ones that feel authentic, personal, and full of heart. And through my industry connections, you won’t just arrive as a guest — you’ll leave feeling like a friend.

A large historic mansion with multiple windows and a stone facade, surrounded by a patio with lounge chairs, striped umbrellas, potted plants, and a swimming pool.
A man in a dark coat standing on a dock by a river, gesturing with his hands as he speaks, with sunlight reflecting off the water and casting shadows. The scene is framed by an ornate metal gate and striped posts, with a canopy overhead and lanterns hanging from above.
A scenic street view with a vintage blue Fiat car and modern white cars parked near a hotel building in a hillside town with lush greenery and houses on a rocky hill in the background.
A decorated dinner table with artistic plates, a pink rose, a bowl of apples, a vase with a face design, a candelabrum with three lit candles, and a bowl of fruit, all arranged with floral decorations.
Beach house with wooden exterior, outdoor pool, lounge chairs, and sliding doors open to living space, under a partly cloudy sky.

If you’re thinking about Europe but not sure where to start: London and Scotland make a fantastic first trip abroad. There’s no language barrier, and the local culture is endlessly charming — from high tea to cozy pubs. You can explore royal history, wander through the V&A, or take a deep dive into England’s stunning countryside. And of course, my insider tips will have you sipping the best dirty martini in London one day or trying your hand at falconry in the Scottish Highlands.

Italy is a fantastic destination for elementary school-aged kids. Imagine learning about Roman gladiators — and even getting to dress up like one! Or heading out on a truffle hunt with dogs in the Tuscan countryside (while parents sneak in a glass of wine). Cooking classes in Florence get little ones hands-on making their own pizza or pasta. There’s so much fun to be had — and so many opportunities to learn along the way.

For the wellness lovers: Switzerland, Austria, and the Dolomites offer breathtaking views paired with immersive nature experiences — perfect for those looking to unwind and recharge in stunning alpine settings. Ischia is a hidden gem off the Italian coast, known for its historic thermal springs. It’s the perfect blend of modern luxury and old-world charm — an ideal spot to slow down and soak it all in.

What European travel trends do I see more of on the horizon? I think we’ll continue to see travelers gravitating toward destinations that blend style, authenticity, and a true sense of place. Copenhagen is the city to watch, where cutting-edge design, fashion, art, and hospitality effortlessly intersect. Puglia is the countryside escape, offering an Italian seaside experience with far fewer crowds — think charming villages, dramatic coastlines, and boating through hidden caves.  Comporta, often called the "Hamptons of Portugal," is the weekend playground of Lisbon’s in-the-know locals with chic beach clubs and boutique shopping. It’s understated luxury done right.
